Help Not Harm LogoYes, I want to help protect children!

Children need help, not harm.

Kids are not experiments. When a child is struggling to embrace their biological sex, they need compassionate care and help – not the harm of experimental hormones and surgery.

Yet every day, youth around the country are endangered by transgender interventions including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and mutilating surgeries. I call on lawmakers to protect children from these practices because:

  • They can leave youth sterile and missing healthy body parts – permanent physical changes that lead to a lifetime of regret. These interventions are dangerous.
  • Children who are not old enough to buy cough syrup over the counter are not old enough to make such a life-altering and potentially regrettable decision as pursuing transition. Instead, they should be given loving help. Minors should not make decisions with such serious consequences.
  • The vast majority of children who struggle to accept their birth sex will come to reconcile with it by adulthood. Many of these children don’t need any intervention – but for those that do, basic talk therapy can be an excellent option. There are better options.

Arkansas became the first state to pass Help Not Harm legislation in 2021. In the short time since, 17 other states have followed suit to enact laws protecting children from these dangerous interventions. Americans are waking up to this serious issue, and demanding action Now, it's time for lawmakers in all 50 states to line up to pass similar protections for children in their own jurisdictions.

Minors should not be sterilized, mutilated, and left to deal with the regret that may follow.

I stand with Americans across the country who believe that children deserve Help Not Harm, and I call on lawmakers to boldly protect our children!
